Email Hacking Tricks

Email Hacking Tricks Exposed

Email is the fastest way of sending messages across the word.The data regarding email usage is extraordinary around 3 million emails are sent a day,more than 4 million email accounts are active out of which 70% are for business purpose.Email is used as for communication purpose as well as business purpose.So compromising an email account is a critical think since the hacker can affect his/her business  and personal life.

So let us have a look at some of the common email hacking techniques used by hackers so that you will get an awareness about how to secure your email account.

Email Spoofing

Email Spoofing is a technique of changing the email header so that the email appears to have originated from other source.This technique is used by spammers in an attempt to make the receipnt to open the email,sometimes even reply to it.

There are several ways to send fake emails .Internet is that much vulnerable that you can use anybody's email id to send a fake email.

Sending Fake emails

Many web programming languages like PHP have a mail function which can be used to send fake emails.There are numerous websites available on the internet which contains these kind of scripts that can be used for sending fake emails.

Some free websites are

deadfake.com
mail.anonymizer.name

mail.anonymizer.name even allows you send an attachment also.

php email sending script

eg  :

<?php
$to = "admin@opentech4u.com";
$subject = "Site Hacked";
$message = "Hello! Your site is hacked";
$from = "support@joomla.com";
$headers = "From:" . $from;
mail($to,$subject,$message,$headers);
echo "Mail Sent.";
?>

This script will send an email to admin@opentech4u.com.The sender id will be support@joomla.com

Finding a fake email

You can read my post on How to check the email is original or not for more information on this.

Email Bombing

Email Bombing is the technique of sending an email to a particular address in the victim site.Usually the message will be large with meaningless data.Email Bombing may result in additional system and network resources and creating an effect of denial of service attack.

Simple PHP Script for email Bombing

Again the mail() function on php can be used for email bombing.Iam giving a small example on this.

<?php

$i =1;
do {
mail("bomb@email.com""subject""message""From: your@mail.com");
} while (
$i 0);?>

This is a simple mail bomber script using PHP.Only thing you need to do is upload this PHP script to any free webhosting service. Change bomb@mail.com to the victim email id .and Change the other fields accordingly.and run the page.

This will bomb the victim's email id .This function is inside a loop that never ends .So infinite amount of emails will be bombed to the victim's email id.

The email servers like gmail or yahoo may put this on a seperate folder but for MSN etc it works perfectly.

Email Spamming

Spamming is a variant of bombing.Instead of sending email to a single victim it is send to thousands of users.Spamming become more worse if one of the receipt replies to this spam email resulting the original  addresses to receive the reply.

You can modify the above mentioned script for spamming or lot of spamming softwares are available in the internet.Which can be downloaded and can be used for spamming.

Email Password Hacking

Hacking an email server like gmail or yahoo is not possible.The only and easy way to hack an email id is by Client side attack.

Client side attack means ,Compromising the client machine and collecting the required information.Client side attack can be achieved using a Trojan or RAT or a keylogger.You can read more about this kind of attack and the methods used to it from Here

Email Phishing

Email Phishing is a technique of sending a fake email asking the user to login to a page and update his/her credit card information,personal information etc.The page specified in the email will be a fake one and are used to collect the personal information of the user.

examples are

1.Email asking to login to a particular page.
2.Email asking to update your bank information etc.

You can check the authenticity of an email using a simple trick.Which you can read here

Securing You Email

1.Always configure account recovery option.
2.Properly configure security question and note down the answer.
3.Don't Open emails from strangers.
4.Take care of phishing links.
5.Check the url trice before using which comes in email.
6.Check the emails authenticity if required..Click Here to learn it
7.If you use third party email servers like Hmail ,Always use a antispam software.

6 useful Windows tricks

6 useful Windows tricks

You know that feeling you get when your friends or family see you do something on your computer that they've never seen before? If you’ve had this experience, you know that “world's coolest power-user” feeling. But if you haven’t, start here. Knowledge is power!
Read these six tips for Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP that will keep you schoolin' your friends and family.

1. Don't just maximize your windows—go full screen

When you need a really big window for viewing photos and videos, don't just maximize it: go full screen! This tip works great for viewing photos and videos at maximum size in Windows Explorer or Windows Media Player, utilizing screen space usually occupied by the header at the top of the screen and the taskbar at the bottom. Here’s how:
Open any photo in Windows Explorer, or open a photo or video clip in Windows Media Player. Do one of the following:
  • In Windows 7 and Windows XP, click the F11 key at the top of your keyboard.
The photo or video image enlarges to its maximum size and the title bar and taskbar are hidden.
Viewing a photo in Windows Explorer standard viewViewing a photo in Windows Explorer standard view
To undo full-screen mode and restore the window to its normal view, press the Esc (Escape) key at the top of your keyboard

2. Customize the Navigation pane

You can use the navigation pane (the left pane) to find files and folders and display links to frequently used folders and other items. You can also move or copy items to a destination in the navigation pane.
If you don't see the navigation pane on the left side of an open folder window, click Organize, point to Layout, and then click Navigation pane to display it.

To customize the navigation pane in Windows 7

  1. In an open folder or library window, click Organize, and then click Folder and search options.
  2. In the Folder Options dialog box, click the General tab, and then do one or both of the following:
    • To show all the folders on your computer in the navigation pane, including your personal folder, select the Show all folders check box, click Apply to see the change, and then click OK.
    • To automatically expand the navigation pane to the folder that's selected in the folder window, select the Automatically expand to current folder check box, and then click OK.

More ways to customize your favorites in Windows 7

  • To add a folder, a saved search, a library, or even a drive as a favorite, drag it to the Favorites section in the navigation pane. Note: You can’t add individual file to Favorites, but you can add them to any folder in Favorites.
  • To change the order of favorites, drag a favorite to a new position in the list.
  • To restore the default favorites in the navigation pane, right-click Favorites, and then click Restore Favorite Links.
  • To view the folder where your favorites are stored, click Favorites in the navigation pane. Favorites are stored as shortcuts.
  • To remove a favorite, right-click the favorite, and then click Remove. This removes the favorite from the navigation pane—it doesn't delete the files or folders that the shortcut points to.

Add folders and files in Windows Vista

In Windows Vista, you can add folders to Favorite Links in the navigation pane so that you can open them from any folder window at any time. To do this, first open the folder that contains the subfolder you want to add. Then simply drag its icon from the original folder to where you want it in the navigation pane. You can also click Folders at the bottom of the pane and drag a folder from the folder list up into the Favorite Links section of the pane. Note: You can’t add individual files to Favorite Links, but you can add them to any folder in Favorite Links.

3. Pin a program or items to the Windows 7 taskbar

You know what would make a great taskbar? One where you could pin your favorite applications or files so that you could open them quickly from any window at any time. Guess what? You can.
In Windows 7, you can also pin shortcuts for favorite or frequently used files, folders, and websites to the Jump Lists for each of those programs to the taskbar. Learn more about Jump Lists.
Pin a program to the taskbar
To pin a program shortcut to the taskbar, do one of the following:
  • If the program is already running, right-click the program's button on the taskbar (or drag the button toward the desktop) to open the program’s Jump List, and then click Pin this program to taskbar.
  • Or if the program isn't running, click Start, find the program’s icon, right-click the icon, and then click Pin to Taskbar.
  • You can also pin a program by dragging the program's shortcut from the desktop or Start menu to the taskbar.

4. Customize the Quick Launch Bar in Windows XP

In Windows XP, the customizable Quick Launch Bar also gives you convenient shortcuts to your favorite programs, folders, and files. The Quick Launch Bar remains accessible from most windows, so it’s a handy way to open the applications and files you use frequently.
If the Quick Launch Bar isn’t already visible to the right of the Start button Start button, you’ll need to turn it on. To do that, right-click an open area of the taskbar. Hover your mouse pointer over Toolbars, then click Quick Launch. The Quick Launch Bar appears on your taskbar.

To add a program shortcut to the Quick Launch Bar, click the Start buttonStart button, click All Programs, then click and drag the application you want to the Quick Launch Bar. Release the mouse button and the application’s icon appears in the Quick Launch Bar.
To add a folder or file shortcut to the Quick Launch Bar, open Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder, subfolder, or individual file you want, click and drag the folder or file you want to the Quick Launch Bar. Release the mouse button and the icon for the folder or file appears in the Quick Launch Bar.
To remove a shortcut from the Quick Launch Bar, right-click on the icon in the Quick Launch Bar of the application, folder, or file you want to remove and right-click it, click Delete, and then click Yes when asked if you’re sure you want to delete the shortcut. Note: Although the shortcut is removed from the Quick Launch Bar, the actual application, folder, or file has not been deleted from your computer.

5. Arrange windows on your desktop

In Windows, you can arrange windows side by side, which can be especially helpful when comparing two documents or when moving files from one place to another. Note: If you’re using a nonstandard setup (such as dual monitors), the tricks below may not work as expected.

Windows 7

  1. Drag the title bar of a window to the left or right side of the screen until an outline of the expanded window appears.
  2. Release the mouse to expand the window.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with another window to arrange the windows side by side.
To return a window to its original size click the Maximize button in the window’s title bar and the window expands to full size.

Windows Vista and Windows XP

In Windows Vista and Windows XP, it’s easy to display any two (or more) windows side by side on the desktop, all equally sized. Press and hold the Ctrl key and click two or more of the window buttons on the taskbar that you want to open. Release the Ctrl key, right-click, and then do one of the following:
  • Windows Vista users, click Show Windows Side by Side.
Windows Vista, Show Windows Side by Side command.Windows Vista, Show Windows Side by Side command.
Windows XP, Tile Vertically command.Windows XP, Tile Vertically command.

6. Organize your files into groups

Windows offers a variety of options for organizing folders and files in the ways that work best for you.

Windows 7

The easiest and most effective way to organize your stuff in Windows 7 is to use file arrangements in your libraries.
You can arrange files in the Documents library by author, for example, or you can arrange the Music library by artist if you're looking for an album or song by a particular band.
To arrange a library
  1. In the taskbar, click the Windows Explorer button Windows Explorer button.
  2. In the navigation pane (the left pane), click a library (such as Music).
  3. In the library pane (above the file list), click the Arrange by menu, and then choose a property. For example, in the Music library, you can choose Artist to quickly arrange your music collection by artist.
    The 'Arrange by' menuThe "Arrange by" menu
  4. When you arrange your files, Windows doesn't just put your files in a different order. Instead, they are presented in a completely different way. The arrangements work differently depending on which one you choose. For example, arranging your pictures by month puts your pictures into stacks, like this:
    Files arranged in 'stacks'Files arranged in "stacks"
    Arranging by day puts them into groups, like this:
    Files arranged in 'groups'Files arranged in "groups"
    There are four default libraries in Windows 7, each with its own specific arrangements. You can also create new libraries and choose which arrangements are available for them.
    For more information about libraries, see Working with libraries.

Windows Vista

Open a folder that contains several different subfolders and file types. Right-click any empty space on the window's contents pane, point to Group By, and then click your grouping choice.

How to Solve a Rubik's Cube (Easy Move Notation)

The Rubik's Cube can be very frustrating and may seem next to impossible to restore to its original configuration. However, once you know a few algorithms, it is very easy to solve. The method described in this article is the layer method: we first solve one face of the cube (first layer), then the middle layer, and finally the last layer.

Steps

First Layer

  1. 1
    Familiarize yourself with the Notations at the bottom of the page.
  2. 2
    Choose one face to start with. In the examples that will follow, the color for the first layer is white.
  3. 3
    Solve the cross.
    Solve the cross.
    Solve the cross. Set into position the four edge pieces that contain white. (You should be able to do this by yourself without needing algorithms.) All four edge pieces can be placed in a maximum of eight moves (five or six in general).
    • Place the cross at the bottom. Turn the cube over 180° so that the cross now on the bottom.
  4. 4
    Solve the four corners of the first layer, one by one. You should also be able to place the corners without needing algorithms. To get you started, here is an example of one corner being solved:
    Image:Rubik_example01_step1_246.png
    Image:VRU_128.png
    Image:Rubik_example01_step2_768.png
    Image:HUL_668.png
    Image:Rubik_example01_step3_219.png
    Image:VRD_231.png
    Image:Rubik_example01_step4_398.png
    • At the end of this step, the first layer should be complete, with a solid color (in this case, white) at the bottom.
  5. 5
    Verify your first layer is correct. You should now have the first layer complete and look like this (from the bottom side):
    Image:Rubik_FLcomplete_1_571.png
    Image:Rubik_FLcomplete_2_642.png
    Image:Rubik_FLcomplete_3_348.png

Middle Layer

  1. 1
    Place the four edges of the middle layer. Those edge pieces are the ones that do not contain yellow in our example. You need to know only one algorithm to solve the middle layer. The second algorithm is symmetrical to the first.
    • If the edge piece is located in the last layer :
      Image:Rubik_ML_1_995.png
      Image:HUL_668.png
      Image:VRU_128.png
      Image:HUR_929.png
      Image:VRD_231.png
      Image:HUR_929.png
      Image:FCCW_690.png
      Image:HUL_668.png
      Image:FCW_465.png
      (1.a)
      Image:Rubik_ML_2_778.png
      Image:HUR_929.png
      Image:VLU_765.png
      Image:HUL_668.png
      Image:VLD_114.png
      Image:HUL_668.png
      Image:FCW_465.png
      Image:HUR_929.png
      Image:FCCW_690.png
      (1.b)
      symmetrical to (1.a)
    • If the edge piece is in the middle layer but in the wrong place or with the wrong orientation, simply use the same algorithm to place any other edge piece in its position. Your edge piece will then be in the last layer, and you just have to use the algorithm again to position it properly in the middle layer.
  2. 2
    Verify correct positioning. Your cube should now have the first two layers complete and look like this (from the bottom side) :
    Image:Rubik_F2Lcomplete_1_660.png
    Image:Rubik_F2Lcomplete_2_149.png
    Image:Rubik_F2Lcomplete_3_840.png

Last layer

  1. 1
    Permute the corners. At this step, our goal is to place the corners of the last layer in their correct position, regardless of their orientation.
    • Locate two adjacent corners that share a color other than the color of the top layer (other than yellow in our case).
    • Turn the top layer until these two corners are on the correct color side, facing you. For instance, if the two adjacent corners both contain red, turn the top layer until those two corners are on the red side of the cube. Note that on the other side, the two corners of the top layer will both contain the color of that side as well (orange in our example).

    • Determine whether the two corners of the front side are in their correct position, and swap them if needed. In our example, the right side is green, and the left side is blue. Therefore the front corner on the right must contain green, and the front corner on the left must contain blue. If it is not the case, you will need to swap those two corners with the following algorithm:
      Swap 1 and 2 :
      Image:VLU_765.png
      Image:HUR_929.png
      Image:VLD_114.png
      Image:FCW_465.png
      Image:HUL_668.png
      Image:FCCW_690.png
      Image:VLU_765.png
      Image:HUL_668.png
      Image:VLD_114.png
      Image:HUL_668.png
      Image:HUL_668.png
      (2.a)
    • Do the same with the two corners at the back. Turn the cube around to place the other side (orange) in front of you. Swap the two front corners if needed.
    • As an alternative, if you notice that both the front pair and the back pair of corners need to be swapped, you can do it with only one algorithm (note the huge similarity with the previous algorithm):
      Swap 1 with 2 and 3 with 4 :
      Image:VLU_765.png
      Image:HUR_929.png
      Image:VLD_114.png
      Image:FCW_465.png
      Image:HUL_668.png
      Image:HUL_668.png
      Image:FCCW_690.png

    Orient the corners. Locate each top color facelet of the corners (yellow in our case). You need to know only one algorithm to orient the corners:

    • The algorithm will rotate three corners on themselves at once (from the side to the top). The blue arrows show which three corners you are turning, and in which direction (clockwise). If the yellow stickers are the way shown on the pictures and you perform the algorithm once, you should end up with the four yellow stickers on top :

      Image:Rubik_LL_corners_complete3D_156.png
    • It is also convenient to use the symmetrical algorithm (here the red arrows are counter-clockwise turns):

    • Note: performing one of these algorithms twice is equivalent to performing the other. In some cases, you will need to perform the algorithm more than once :
    • Two correctly oriented corners :

      Image:Rubik_LL_CO_12_123.png

      =
      Image:Rubik_LL_CO_53_343.png
      +
      Image:Rubik_LL_CO_54_269.png
    • No correctly oriented corner :
      Image:Rubik_LL_CO_31_931.png
      =
      Image:Rubik_LL_CO_32_753.png
      =

      Image:Rubik_LL_CO_43_207.png
      +
      Image:Rubik_LL_CO_44_611.png
    • More generally, apply (3.a) in those cases:
      Two correctly oriented corners :
      Image:Rubik_LL_OC_2c_116.png
      No correctly oriented corner :
      Image:Rubik_LL_OC_0c_870.png
  3. 3
    Permute the edges. You will need to know only one algorithm for this step. Check whether one or several edges are already in the correct position (the orientation does not matter at this point).
    • If all the edges are in their correct positions, you are done for this step.
    • If one edge only is correctly positioned, use the following algorithm :
      Image:Rubik_LL_EP_11_863.png
      Image:Rubik_LL_EP_12_216.png

    • Or its symmetrical :

      (4.b)
      Symmetrical to (4.a)

      Note : performing twice one of these algorithms is equivalent to performing the other.
    • If all four edges are incorrectly positioned, perform one of the two algorithms once from any side. You will then have only one edge correctly positioned.
  4. 4
    Orient the edges. You will need to know two algorithms for that last step :

    • Note the DOWN, LEFT, UP, RIGHT, sequence to most of the Dedmore "H" and "Fish" algorithms. You really have only one algorithm to remember since :
      (6) =

      Image:VRU_128.png
      + (5) +
      Image:VRD_231.png
      Image:FCCW_690.png
    • If all four edges are flipped, perform the "H" pattern algorithm from any side, and you will have to perform that algorithm one more time to solve the cube.
  5. 5
    Congratulations! Your cube should now be solved.

Notations

  1. 1
    This is the key to the notations used.
    • The pieces that compose the Rubik's Cube are called Cubies, and the color stickers on the Cubies are called facelets.
    • There are three types of Cubies:
      • The centers (or center pieces), at the center of each face of the Cube. There are six of them, each have one facelet
      • The corners (or corner pieces), at the corners of the Cube. There are eight of them, and each have three facelets
      • The edges (or edge pieces), between each pair of adjacent corners. There are 12 of them and each have 2 facelets
    • Not all cubes have the same color schemes. The the colors used for these illustrations is called BOY (because the Blue, Orange and Yellow faces are in clockwise order).
      • White opposes yellow;
      • Blue opposes green;
      • Orange opposes red;
  2. 2
    This article uses two different views for the Cube:
    • The 3D View, showing three sides of the Cube: the front (red), the top (yellow), and the right side (green). In Step 4, the algorithm (1.b) is illustrated with a picture showing the left side of the cube (blue), the front (red) and top (yellow).

      3D View
    • The Top View, showing only the top of the cube (yellow). The front side is at the bottom (red).

      Top View
  3. 3
    For the top view, each bar indicates the location of the important facelet. In the picture, the yellow facelets of the top back corners are on the top (yellow) side, while the yellow facelets of the top front corners are both located on the front side of the cube.

    Showing Yellow Facelets
  4. 4
    When a facelet is grey, it means that its color is not important at the moment.
  5. 5
    The arrows (blue or red) show what the algorithm will do. In the case of the algorithm (3.a) for instance, it will rotate the three corners on themselves as shown. If the yellow facelets are as drawn on the picture, at the end of the algorithm they will be on top.

    algorithm (3.a)
    • The axis of the rotation is the big diagonal of the cube (from one corner to the corner all the way on the other side of the cube).
    • Blue arrows are used for clockwise turns (algorithm (3.a)).
    • Red arrows are used for counter-clockwise turns (algorithm (3.b), symmetrical to (3.a)).
  6. 6
    For the top view, the light blue facelets indicate that an edge is incorrectly oriented. In the picture, the edges on the left and right are both incorrectly oriented. This means that if the top face is yellow, the yellow facelets for those two edges are not on the top, but on the side.

    For the move notations it is important to always look at the cube from the front side.
    • Rotation of the front side.
